Hello Festival Coordinators & Participants,
It’s now time to solidify the choral festival selections for this year. As you all know, the Festival will feature a combined choir from all Dioceses.
Here are the selections that I received for consideration:
1. My Good Lord- Glenn Burleigh (was not able to find a copy of an octavo)
2. With His Stripes We Are Healed- Glenn Burleigh (was not able to find a copy of an octavo)
3. Hear My Prayer by Moses Hogan
4. Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal arr. Alice Parker
My goal was to perform 4-6 selections total for the combined choir. However, only 4 were submitted. I would like a few more submissions before we finalize the selections for the combined choir. If you have not submitted pieces for consideration, please submit possible works by this Wednesday, May 16. Remember that the pieces need to be accessible for the short amount of rehearsals that we will have once we reach the national convention. Also, because each director will be responsible for preparing his or her choir prior to the national, please submit pieces of music that can be ordered online through a music publishing company. This will ensure that we are learning the same music. After Wednesday, we will make a final decision so that everyone can begin to order music.
