First Holiness Church and the Brownsville and Stanton Community came together to celebrate “National Ice Cream Month”. Many churches were represented at the Ice Cream Fest and it was BLESSING!!
The purpose of the fest was to build community relationships by encouraging, sharing, showing love, joy, peace, hope, and concerns for others. “Together,” we can make a significant difference in our community.
The Celebration of National Ice Cream Month was originated by Joint Resolution 298, which was sponsored by Senator Walter Dee Huddleston of KY of May 17, 1984. The resolution proclaimed the month of July as the National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday in July as the National Day. It was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan on July 9, 1984, with the Presidential Proclamation 5219.
